A survey conducted by the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) and the National Confederation of Financial Institutions (CNF) revealed that 84% of Brazilians distrust online betting platforms and that 59% advocate strict intervention by the federal go
According to the study shared by Folha de S. Paulo, 57% consider that the platforms are bad or terrible, while 17% describe them as good or excellent. Trust is also low, since only 12% claim to trust the sites.
 
Among the Brazilians interviewed, 40% claim to play or have someone in their family who bets. However, 45% of this group admitted that the practice had negatively affected their quality of family life. In addition, according to the survey, 56% of bettors said that the money they spend on bets is missing from their monthly budget, while 53% are afraid of losing money and getting into debt.
 
The research data also revealed that 52% of bettors spend between BRL 30 and 500 reais and that 24% bet daily. More than half of the respondents who bet (52%) recognize that they lose more money than they earn.
 
In turn, 41% of respondents acknowledged that spending money on gambling interferes with the payment of basic expenses, such as food (37%) and household bills (36%).
 
The survey, conducted by the Institute of Social, Political and Economic Research (Ipespe) between October 15 and 23, interviewed 2,000 people from all regions of the country by phone and Internet. The margin of error is 2.2 percentage points, with a confidence interval of 95.45%.
