This scenario will offer 30,000 attendees an analysis of the interaction between industry ethics, regulation, technology and player behavior, with the participation of experienced professionals in the sector.
Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, said: "Player protection has rightly evolved from being a regulatory requirement to a fundamental business strategy. As global regulatory frameworks tighten and consumer expectations increase, operators who succeed in the long term will be those who integrate security into their model.”
The Player Protection scenario will address three key issues. The first day will focus on regulation, the second on emerging trends and the third on innovative technologies that can better protect players.
Tuesday, September 16 - Regulation: The opening day will explore the relationship between regulation and unforeseen consequences, wondering if strict compliance measures push players towards unregulated markets. It will also examine who should take responsibility for disputes between players: operators, regulators or an independent body.
Wednesday, September 17 - Research: The second day will focus on practical solutions for player protection. The panels will explore topics on how AI is changing player engagement and why unlicensed sites continue to attract consumers. The sessions will also compare global approaches to affordability and risk assessment, and ask who has the best approach to protecting players.
Thursday, September 18 - Technology: The closing day will analyze the latest tools and technologies to maintain the safety of players, including how different platforms can collaborate to protect them, player monitoring through AI and how player protection works when playing with cryptocurrencies.
The Player Protection scenario will bring together several experts in responsible gambling, including: Savo Bakmaz (CEO, Maxbet), Dr Maris Catania (Director of Player Sustainability, LeoVegas), David Foster (Head of Regulatory Affairs, Entain), Richard Hayler (Managing Director, IBAS), Dr Alexandra Koerner (Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, Grand Casino Baden AG), Katie Reynolds-Jones (Chief Marketing Officer, GamStop), and Monica Shafaq (CEO, Gordon Moody). Together, they will address the key challenges surrounding harm minimization, regulatory expectations and responsible gaming, which makes this scenario essential for anyone in charge of the player protection strategy.
This scenario is one of the six of the SBC Summit 2025 conference, along with Global Markets, Emerging Markets, Technology, Affiliates and the Super Stage.
