Net income from Nevada casinos falls 34.8% after a drop of 81.2% on the Las Vegas Strip
Nevada casinos generated USD 1.7 billion in net income during fiscal year 2025, although profits on the Las Vegas Strip fell by 81.2%, which contributed to a decrease in state profits of 34.8%, the Nevada Gaming Control Board reported.


The Nevada Games Summary - 2025 revealed that the 305 casinos in the state that generated at least USD 1 million in game revenue produced net income of USD 1,697,540,577 during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025. According to a Fox 5 report, casinos generated total revenue of USD 30,817,837,749 during that period.
Total state revenues decreased by 2.2% compared to fiscal year 2024, while gambling revenues fell by 0.6%, reaching USD 11,216,361,427. Gambling revenues accounted for 36.4% of total revenue.
In turn, the casinos paid USD 1,140,863,260 in gambling taxes and fees, which is equivalent to 10.2% of gambling revenue.
It is worth mentioning that the Nevada Gaming Control Board defines total revenue as the money spent by customers on gambling, accommodation, food, drinks and other attractions. Net profit represents the money withheld after paying expenses, but before federal taxes on income and extraordinary expenses.
The Las Vegas Strip records the biggest fall
 
The Las Vegas Strip generated total revenues of USD 21,077,838,684 during fiscal year 2025, 3.7% less than the previous year. Gambling revenues on the Strip also decreased by 3.7%, reaching USD 5,509,848,670.
Net revenues fell to USD 154,188,391, which represents a decrease of 81.2% compared to fiscal year 2024, the largest drop among Nevada's main gaming markets.
Clark County remains the largest market in Nevada
 
The 177 casinos in Clark County generated a combined net income of USD 1,502,015,332 out of total income of USD 27,819,649,481.
Gaming revenues in the county reached USD 9,649,547,734, 1.1% less than the previous fiscal year. Net revenues decreased by 34.7%, while total revenues decreased by 2.5%.
In Clark County, downtown Las Vegas casinos reported a net profit of USD 159,192,147, 20.2% less than in fiscal year 2024.
The downtown market generated total revenues of USD 1,621,861,159, up 0.7%, while game revenues increased by 1.8% to reach USD 812,244,965.
The Boulder Strip district reported a net profit of USD 375,084,534. Total revenue increased by 0.2% to USD 1,255,339,273, while game revenue rose 1.2% to USD 860,794,501.
The rest of Clark County generated a net profit of USD 868,337,288. Total revenues increased by 3.2% to $3,224,044,329, and game revenues rose 4.7% to USD 2,118,385,618.
Laughlin recorded a net loss of USD 54,787,028, compared to the previous year's positive results. The variation in net market income was -758.6%. Total revenues decreased by 2.1%, reaching USD 640,566,036, while game revenues fell 3.0%, to USD 348,273,980.
Regional markets yield disparate results
 
The 34 casinos in Washoe County reported a combined net profit of USD 84,853,787 out of a total income of USD 1,691,284,605. The county's net profit decreased by 50.0%, while total revenues increased by 0.5%. For its part, gambling revenues increased by 1.9%, reaching USD 766,364,938.
Within Washoe County, Reno-Sparks casinos generated a net profit of USD 47,006,800 (a drop of 62.7%), with total revenues of USD 1,499,926,375. Gambling revenues increased by 1.9% to USD 660,336,711.
The 22 casinos in Elko County generated a net profit of $93,294,672 out of a total revenue of USD 472,578,333. Net profit increased by 1.6%, while gambling revenue rose 5.0% to USD 319,434,467.
The Wendover market generated a net profit of USD 75,454,800. Total revenues totaled USD 302,630,775, while gambling revenue reached USD 194,795,795. Net profit increased by 1.2% and gambling revenues grew by 0.4%.
The 15 casinos in the Carson Valley area recorded a net profit of USD 24,298,814 out of a total income of USD 186,241,589. Total revenues increased by 4.3%, while gambling revenues rose 5.3% to USD 127,685,195. Net profit increased by 2.0%.
The rest of the state generated a net profit of USD 43,138,564 out of total income of USD 273,660,337. Gambling revenues totaled USD 187,397,089. Total revenues increased by 1.6%, gambling revenues rose 2.0% and net profit decreased 6.2%.
The Tahoe market remains in the red
 
The South Shore Lake Tahoe area in Douglas County, which has seven licensees, reported a net loss of USD 50,060,592. This market generated total revenue of USD 374,423,404 and gambling revenue of USD 165,932,004. Total revenues decreased by 3.7%, while gambling revenues fell by 3.9%.
According to the Nevada Games Summary - 2025, 52 casinos owned by public companies accounted for 62.1% of all gambling revenues generated throughout the state during fiscal year 2025.
In addition to balance sheet and income statement data, the annual report includes information on average employment levels, hotel occupancy rates, income per room occupied, gambling income per square foot of casino surface and operating indices of Nevada casino properties.
