The World Jai Alai League will open its 2026 fall season on Tuesday, September 15 at Miami's JAM Arena, beginning a milestone season that marks 100 years since professional Jai Alai first arrived in Miami.
Season X, the tenth season of the Battle Court team-based competition launched in 2022, will also be the first since entrepreneur and sports asset investor Rob Gough acquired the World Jai Alai League in August 2026.
The acquisition marks the beginning of a new chapter for the league. World Jai Alai League will maintain the existing Battle Court competition and operating format, with Chief Operating Officer Scott Savin overseeing Season X. Gough and his team will use the coming months to listen to players and fans, evaluate opportunities across the league, and execute plans for a broader evolution of Jai Alai's presentation, live experience, media, marketing and commercial strategy beginning in 2027.

The beginning of Season X also sees the unveiling of a refreshed World Jai Alai League identity and the launch of JaiAlai.com, a new digital home bringing the league's schedule, teams, players, standings, results, ticketing, broadcast information and wagering content together in one destination.
Season X will feature six franchises and 45 gamedays at JAM Arena, beginning September 15 and running through December 1.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday gamedays will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET and will be produced for broadcast. Friday nights will welcome fans to JAM Arena, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and first serve at 7:00 p.m. ET. Tickets for Friday-night events are available through JaiAlai.com.
The Cyclones and Renegades will open the season at 3:00 p.m. ET on September 15, with the first public Friday-night matchup featuring the Renegades and Warriors at 7:00 p.m. ET on September 18.
Every Season X match will be available live and free through the Jai Alai Network on YouTube, with additional coverage available through ESPN+ and Fubo.
Jai Alai will also continue to offer regulated sports wagering across 25 states, as well as Ontario and Mexico. World Jai Alai League matches are approved wagering markets on DraftKings, FanDuel, Hard Rock Bet and BetRivers, with markets including moneyline, spreads, totals and player props, subject to availability and applicable regulations in each jurisdiction.
The World Jai Alai League's Battle Court format features head-to-head team competition across both singles and doubles matches. Six franchises compete throughout the regular season for four playoff positions, with the postseason culminating in the Battle Court Cup.
The Chargers, Cyclones, Devils, Fireballs, Renegades and Warriors will compete in Season X, featuring professional players from the United States, Spain's Basque Country, France, Cuba and the Philippines.
The season comes during a landmark year for the sport. Professional Jai Alai arrived in Miami in 1926, beginning a century-long relationship between the city and a game renowned for its speed, athleticism and distinctive culture. JAM Arena, the original Miami Jai Alai Fronton, remains at the center of that history and will serve as the home of all six franchises this season.
"I didn't acquire Jai Alai because I believe its best years are behind it," Gough said. "I believe its biggest opportunity is still ahead of it. Our responsibility now is to respect the history, learn from the people who know this sport best and build something worthy of its next 100 years."
